August 12, 2007, Underwood Plaza Update

Max True Fireproofing showed up with material for the First Floor Level, installed lathing at the joists over that level and began spraying steel columns, beams, joists and decking.

At midweek they stocked material at the Second Floor Level and began installing lathing at the joists over that level.

Crossland Concrete ran edge form for the First Floor Level slab, prepared and poured concrete at the column block-outs at that level and poured the upper flight of the concrete stairs running from the First Floor Level to the Second Floor Level. Rebar cages were set at the piers drilled this week at Powerhouse Row and the piers were poured.

Fayetteville Mechanical continued hanging cast iron and PVC drain piping over the First Floor Level, was installing pipe hangers and began running copper HVAC piping over the Second Floor Level. They also began laying out floor slab penetrations for the Second Floor Level gang bathrooms.

Crossland Steel finished setting and welding diagonal bracing at the Second Floor Level, continued setting columns extending from just above the Third Floor Level to just above the Sixth Floor Level, continued hanging beams at the Fourth Floor Level and was welding the column splices just above the Third Floor Level.

Bar joists for the Fourth Floor Level were delivered midweek and began to be set in place. Gusset plates were being welding in place for the diagonal bracing on top of the Third Floor Level beams.

Both Bill’s Electric and Fayetteville Mechanical laid out floor penetrations at the Second Floor Level mechanical room slab.

Bill’s Electric ran temporary lighting over the Second Floor Level.

Long’s Drilling was back and drilled the remainder of the piers, except one, at Powerhouse Row. Chat fill, apparently from an old gas tank removal, was encountered at the one hole.
